Our Team

Cesar Wicha Castaneda
was born in Lima, Peru in 1972. Since he can remember, tennis has been a constant focus in his life and coaching is his passion. Between 1994 and 1996, Cesar worked alongside Chuck Kriese at Clemson, with Luis Horna as Junior Davis Cup team Captain for U12, U14 and U16 divisions. In 1998, he accepted a job at the Nick Bollettieri Tennis Academy in Florida to work with elite players, a group that consisted of Maria Sharapova, Jelena Jankovic, Tataiana Golovin, Jamea Jackson, Mirjana Lucic who were all 12 - 14 years of age. Because of the great success in his groups over the years, Cesar was offered the job to coach and tour with the top pros in "Nick's group" and spent most of his time with Xavier Mallise and Kei Nishikori reached a career high of ATP #19 and ATP #4 respectively. In 2007, Cesar moved to Tennis Canada, where he helped build the player development program. At Tennis Canada he worked extensively with Milos Raonic during his transition from the juniors to the pros. Milos reached a career high of ATP #3. Both Kei and Milos won their first pro titles with Cesar by their side. Cesar gets much of his tennis inspiration from his father, an avid tennis lover who competes professionally in his age group and is currently ranked #3 in the world on the senior tour! He is now based in Miami, Florida, where he continues to develop talented players.

Diana Espinal
Diana Espinal is a distinguished tennis player from the Dominican Republic, born on October 8, 1983. She has had an extensive career, playing right-handed and competing in numerous ITF tournaments, where she became one of the top players in her country. Her competitive spirit and skill have earned her recognition as one of the best tennis players in the Dominican Republic.
In addition to her ITF success, Espinal excelled in collegiate tennis at the University of Louisiana Monroe, a Division I school. During her time there, she played as the #1 player in both singles and doubles, significantly contributing to her team's success. Her outstanding performance at the collegiate level highlighted her ability to compete with the best in the nation.
Moreover, Espinal represented the Dominican Republic in the Davis Cup, an international team competition that showcases the top talent in the sport. This experience not only underscored her individual skills but also demonstrated her commitment to promoting tennis in her home country. Espinal's achievements on both the national and international stages reflect her dedication to the sport and her status as a prominent figure in Dominican tennis

Elvis Espinal
a highly respected tennis coach originally based in the Dominican Republic, has significantly impacted the development of young tennis talent. After founding the Academia de Tenis Elvis Espinal in Santo Domingo, he became known for mentoring players who went on to achieve impressive results in both national and international competitions. His academy nurtured several junior players who have participated in high-level tournaments like the JITIC and ITF circuits.
One of his most successful trainees is his daughter, Lia Espinal, who has represented the Dominican Republic in prestigious events, including the Billie Jean King Cup, and had strong showings in the Copa Mangu and Copa Mangulina ITF tournaments. Lia later continued her career at the University of Tennessee at Martin, becoming one of the top performers in the Ohio Valley Conference.
In addition to Lia, Elvis has worked with other promising players, many of whom have gone on to play in international tournaments and college tennis programs in the U.S. His coaching style emphasizes discipline and technical proficiency, which has earned him recognition in the Dominican tennis community.
He continues to coach and develop young players, aiming to compete on the global stage, while maintaining strong ties to his Dominican roots and continuing to support players from his home country.

Heli Paredes
With over 20 years of experience in sports conditioning and coaching, Heli have had the privilege of working with top-level athletes, including Grand Slam champions, Olympians, and ATP/WTA-ranked professionals. He has trained players such as Gaston Gaudio, Roland Garros champion (ATP #5), Nicolas Massu, Athens 2004 Singles and Doubles Olympic Gold Champion, Luis Horna (ATP #16), and many others like Ramon Delgado (ATP #52), Eric Nunez (ATP #178), Roxana de los Rios (WTA #51), Milagro Sequera (WTA #48), Maria Kirilenko (WTA #5), Victor Hanescu (ATP #26), Alejandro Falla (ATP #48), Roberto Quiros (ATP #174), and Samuel Rubell from Duke University. I’ve also coached promising junior talents like Gonzalo Escobar, Diego Idalgo, and Patricio Alvarado.
His expertise also extends to rowing, where Heli served as a coach for the High-Performance Rowing Team in Cuba for 10 years and held the position of Vice President of the Kickboxing Federation in Peru.
He hold a Bachelor's Degree in Sports Science from Universidad Nacional, Havana, and a Master's Degree in Business Management from ESAN Graduate School of Business, Lima. Heli's extensive career reflects a passion for athlete development, helping sports professionals excel through targeted physical conditioning and mental toughness.
